Alumni- A Lifetime Commitment
Behind any successful fraternity is strong and supportive alumni, and Xi is no exception. Throughout 117 years of existence we have gained a long and impressive list of alumni. However, none are more important to us than brothers D. Malcolm McNair, Charles B. Whiteside III, and Martin Swope. These three men have been a part of the driving force behind Xi’s success in recent years.
Both Mr. McNair and Mr. Whiteside have a long history of service to Xi. Mr. Whiteside’s father, Charles Whiteside, Jr. was treasurer of Xi Corporation and Mr. McNair’s father, David M. McNair, Sr served the as Treasurer to Xi Corporation as well. Xi Corporation is the housing board that maintains the finances for the Kappa Sigma house.
Brother Whiteside served as Grand Master in his years. In 1974 Mr. Whiteside was handed the reigns of Xi Corp. He still serves as president to this day. While he takes care of a large part of the house finances, Martin Swope takes care of all up keep that goes into a house full of young men. He is often seen dropping by to see if we need anything taken care of. During the holiday breaks he assigns a repair and cleaning crew to makes sure everything in the house is perfect when we return.
Brother McNair is very visible as well. He plays a major role in our successful rush program every year. As director of alumni relations for the law school, he is in walking distance if we every need him. Brother McNair has several awards as outstanding alumnus advisor by Kappa Sigma Nationals and by the University.
It is truly rewarding to be a part of an organization with such dedication and hard working men in Charlie, Malcomb, and Martin. It is with honest care and loyalty to their fraternity that they see to it that “Fabulous” Xi will live forever.

Malcolm McNair serves as the chapter alumni advisor.

Martin Swope serves as assistant alumni advisor and property manager.
